The impacted areas by the rain and the snow are relatively easy to identify under zero or low wind conditions, but they become much more difficult to apprehend in the presence of wind, where “transported” particles can go much further away from the openings entrance. It then becomes complicated to anticipate and define areas to be waterproofed or parts of the soil to be treated against slippage.

In the simulations carried out by OPTIFLOW, the transport of the particles is directly modeled and which make possible to highlight the zones od direct impact but also to quantify the quantities of water or snow that can accumulate there.

The analysis of the associated air movements permit to adjust or design approriate mitigation in order to minimize or eradicate these phenomena.
