Optiflow

The main goal of the Optiflow company, french precursor for solving problems relatives to local microclimate through a CFD approach, is to answer to all questions that may be raised about climate phenomena, from a room or an office of a building to a large urban area.

Our intervention allows, from the design stages to the final project, to take into account and to improve the thermal and wind comfort inside the studied spaces and to register effectively in environmental optimization approaches, always in the respect for architectural intentions.

Microclimatique Urbaine

Urban Climate

Today, the quality of an urban space is assessed by understanding the role played by the different climatic variables such as wind, temperature, humidity or solar radiation ….

One of the major key of a successful urban project is to anticipate the negative effects of the climatic phenomena that can arise, at the scale of the neighbourhood on the public spaces (streets, squares, islets …) and to identify the contribution of  the different buildings on the local wind and the sunshine light repartition (Wind corridor, Absence of sunshine, Urban Heat Islands …)

Climatique du bâtiment

CLIMATE RESPONSIVE BUILDING

The conception of a built structure cannot be imagined without a deep understanding consideration of its climatic environment.

The quality of use of the different spaces must be relied to such environment but should also take advantage of the benefit induced especially from an energetic point of view.

It must also take into account the influence of parameters that can play an important role in the sustainability of construction.

Ambiance intérieure

THERMAL COMFORT

In large architectural or industrial volumes, air movements and heat transfers proves to be extremely difficult to control.

Indeed, these spaces are the place of a multiplicity of coupled complex physical phenomena coming from the spatial inhomogeneity of a local atmosphere.

Only a computational approach can highlight and quantify accurately the different phenomena.
